From November 29, 2024, to January 5, 2025, Upper Canada Village turns into a million-light holiday extravaganza. Seriously, this place glows so much you might leave with a tan. Stroll through magical pathways, hop on the holiday train, or drop by Saint Nick’s Workshop to convince Santa you’ve been nice this year. And don’t miss the old-timey carolling and the Sound and Light Show at Crysler Hall—it’s like Christmas turned up to 11.

The Elf’s Pub Pop Up Bar is back at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier - the holiday hangout that screams, “Christmas!” This year, it looks like Santa’s little helpers have been busy ‘cause they’ve completely renovated Elf’s Pub. New look, layout and even a new drink menu. It’s a festive and new sensory overload in the best way possible: colourful, bright, boozy, and perfectly lit for your Instagram.

Mark your calendars for December 6 and December 13, when the 613flea Holiday Market takes over the iconic Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park. With a lineup of 140 local vendors offering handmade gifts, vintage treasures, and holiday treats, this is the perfect spot to find something unique for everyone on your list—or yourself (because you deserve it). The festive vibes are free, and so is the admission.

Mayor’s 22nd Annual Christmas Celebration

Because even the Mayor knows you can’t say no to hot chocolate and Santa.


On Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, City Hall gets decked out for the Mayor’s 22nd Annual Christmas Celebration—a festive bash with enough holiday cheer to make even the Mayor forget about zoning bylaws for a day.


Bring a donation for the Ottawa Food Bank and enjoy classics like roasting marshmallows, sipping hot chocolate, and skating on the Rink of Dreams, which officially opens that day (no pressure, rink maintenance crew).


Plus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, because apparently, the Mayor wasn’t festive enough on his own.


The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off at 5:00 PM, and enjoy a horse-drawn wagon rides and live indoor entertainment making this a full-on holiday extravaganza.


Also, $2 Beavertails with all the proceeds going directly to those in need!

The Santa Shuffle Fun Run & Elf Walk hits Lansdowne Park on Saturday, December 7, 2024, and it’s here to combine holiday cheer with some light cardio. Whether you’re tackling the 1K walk or going all out on the 5K run, you’ll be supporting The Salvation Army and helping people in your community. Plus, you’ll look great doing it because Santa hats and elf outfits are basically the dress code.

The OJCA/OJCC Mochitsuki 2024 is back on December 8 at the Preston Event Centre, and it’s bringing all the mochi-smashing action you didn’t know you needed. This annual Japanese celebration features live mochi pounding, where you can watch sticky rice get transformed into delicious perfection—because nothing says “tradition” like a mallet and some serious elbow grease.
